Network Marketing Myths and Realities

Network marketing, as its name implies, is a form of marketing campaign that is carried out by individuals or groups of people within circles or neighboring networks. These circles could be spread out in a geographical area or scattered in different provinces, states and even in different countries.

In general, this type of marketing is done in circles of friends, circles of employees or colleagues and / or social circles, such as clubs, etc. Marketing or advertising of a product or service is usually done within known networks or circles.

Because of its inherent nature, this form of marketing campaign generally works on the principle of word of mouth. Previously, these marketing campaigns were literally limited to verbal campaigns; However, in modern times, with the increasing use of the Internet, network marketing has also been based a lot on the web.

Every day, we receive several announcements from unidentified senders, announcing or distributing a particular product or product category. In most cases, we have no previous or past email history with those senders. These are classic examples of unwanted e-mails intended to bombard individual mailboxes of people with marketing-oriented content.

Spammers use a concept called the 5% conversion rate, that is, they assume that out of the thousands and millions of emails they regularly send, at least 5% of these emails would become opportunities commercial. That in itself works in very large numbers, literally. These are real world examples of network marketing scams. The senders of these emails use network marketing concepts, albeit inappropriately (ie, through spam).

NM (Network Marketing) can usually take many different forms, one of which is multi-level marketing (MLM).

That said, we must not forget that not all NM concepts are scams. There are large business conglomerates in the world (eg, Amway, Oriflame, etc.) that have built extremely successful business models based on the concept of network marketing. Therefore, you can not categorize blindly or conclusively prove that network marketing has no element of reality. Unfortunately, some spammers have tarnished the image of this marketing concept in recent years.
