Why Your Teens Needs A Therapy

By Jerry Bailey

Girls and boys experience lots of challenges during adolescent stage. Their body physically developed and changed due to puberty. Their mind started to become more conscious as they are able to grasp a situation unlike when they were still in early childhood stage. However, most became so emotional during this stage. Some adults might think they are just bunch of kids doing some reckless stuff with a rebellious attitude. But one should know that teens tend to make a lot of mistakes because their frontal lobe is not yet fully developed. And once they made some mistakes, it engulfs them, making them accede in negativities. Parents might find it a normal phase but they might not now that their kids need an adolescent therapy San Rafael.

Problems will always come in the life of everyone. And every person has his or her own ways to deal with it. The problems with most teens is that they tend to push their family away or perhaps find other means which could be dangerous to solve their own. If your child is a teenager now, perhaps you must pay attention to him or her for some time.

Now back to the situation, the girl kept on harming herself by cutting her arms. Most would likely want to divert their internal suffering to the pain they physically felt. And if they continue to do that, it would just lead them into something even worst which is death. Being disregarded by the family would even make the situation worst.

When that happens, they began to withdraw from everyone and sulk in the corner. As parents, you tried to reach out to them but they tend to berserk. Perhaps the wisest approach is to seek some help from a therapist. If their behaviour continued like that, both parties will just suffer.

Depression is not a joke nor an overdramatic play of an individual who had it. It eats a person emotionally to the point the person could not take it to go on with his life. When your teen is always sad, detached from you and the society and with a moody behaviour, this might be a sign of depression.

Depression is not something that must be ignored and think as if that matter is just simple. Extreme sorrow, anxiety and hopelessness can take a life of a person. And you cannot let that to happen with your kid as well. In addition, adolescents may also suffer with other problems like drug addiction, anxiety and behaviour problems and many more.

Other than that, your teen might be struggling with other problems without your knowledge such as substance abuse, behavioural and social related problems, etc. Your son might have experienced being bullied by others or being pressured by his peers causing him to do something bad and make him feel guilty. Or perhaps they got some anxiety and self-esteem issues.

Stress can also be a factor that could change them in a negative way. Some situations may also cause them to be traumatized. Taking them to a therapist will help them to straighten things up and find some ways to treat their conflicts.

Nevertheless, the role of parents is very crucial. Because you bear those children, you continue to guide them into right path. Listen to their pain and find ways to help them.
